Radial Shockwave Therapy
Radial shockwave therapy (RST) is the use of short, intense energy waves traveling faster than the speed of sound.
These energy waves stimulate the breakdown of scar tissue and fibroblasts. This process increases blood circulation and initiates metabolic activity, causing an inflammatory response that promotes and stimulates healing.
Numerous articles and abstracts have been published regarding the effectiveness of RST. Shockwave is clinically proven to have success rates of 91 percent for calcific tendonitis, 90 percent for plantar fasciitis and 77 percent for tennis elbow. These studies show that, unlike ultrasound, RST is a proven tissue regenerator.
Photobiomodulation (PBM) Therapy
Photobiomodulation (PBM) is the use of red or near-infrared light to stimulate, heal, regenerate, and protect tissue that has either been injured, is degenerating, or else is at risk of dying. Specific wavelengths of light are used to improve tissue repair, reduce pain and inflammation wherever the beam is applied. Photobiomodulation has been used for many years on sports injuries, arthritic joints, neuropathic pain syndromes, back and neck pain.
CRUX Physical Therapy features two ground-breaking technologies in PBM. The NovoTHOR and LX-2 systems.
The NovoTHOR is a whole body delivery system of PBM Therapy that has been designed to deliver optimal wavelengths, power densities and dosages based on published clinical research outcomes.
The advantage of the NovoTHOR is it works on the whole body in just 8-12 minutes. The intended uses of the NovoTHOR are to redevelop muscles, or restore motion to joints, or for use as an adjunct treatment for obesity.
The NovoTHOR is safe, relaxing and has no negative side effects. Clients are supplied with safety goggles and then relax into the NovoTHOR treatment pod for 8 - 12 minutes of whole-body restorative light treatment. The treatment may be repeated two or more times a week.
